Everything in the Universe tends to be Covered

Allaah The Almighty safeguarded the Earth with the atmosphere before women lived on it wearing Hijaab (Islamic covering). The Earth with its atmosphere; all types of living cells; and all parts of the plants ranging from seeds to fruits – are all covered.

A caterpillar starts its life in a cocoon; the skin covers the organs; a corpse is shrouded in white pieces of cloth; and then buried under the earth, men and women alike.

Inanimate objects are veiled:

A sword is kept in its sheath. When a pen loses its cap; its ink dries up; it becomes useless and is thrown away to be trodden on, because it lost its cap, which is the source of its protection. Why do our children bind their books and notebooks? Is it to waste time or to protect them? You put your head on a pillow which is kept clean because of its case that protects it from dirt.

Living beings are veiled:

The cell is surrounded with double membranes, inside and outside, to protect it and regulate the activity of its components.

• The plant cell

It is surrounded by a thick wall which supports it even after death.

• The animal cell

Vertebral cells exist in holes; bone cells are located in tubes; the female ova is kept in the ovaries; the neurons (nerve cells) are long and sheathed, so that they are protected from damage and being cut. Every cell has its own cover; similarly, a woman has to have her distinctive cover (Hijaab).

Plants are veiled:

• The seed

Soil is the veil of the seed; it shelters the seed from the sunshine. The seed lives in darkness in order to grow. The shell is a second cover followed by a third one. The root has a growing top covered by a cap whereby the root penetrates the soil.

Deep soil is better for the seed than the surface. Similarly, when a woman covers herself, she rejects superficiality and thrives spiritually; when she discards her Hijaab, she brings evil upon herself and spreads corruption among the Ummah (Muslim nation).

• The flower

The pistil is in the center of the blossom and is surrounded by petals that protect it. Allaah The Almighty protects the pistil in this way. Is the woman not entitled to such protection? What are the means of this protection? Is not a woman who discards the Hijaab like a beautiful flower, looking dazzling in her adornment, spreading her fragrance, and attracting all kinds of creatures towards it? But all flowers wither and mix with the dust – the difference is that the flower has no reckoning, but human beings do. Would you like this end?

• The fruit

Consider: What happens to an apple when you cut part of it and leave it? Why does a banana turn black after peeling it?

Animals are veiled:

• Sea animals

In the sea, we find various types of corals, shells and snails – all of them form covers to guard mollusks. Surely, blessed Is Allaah, The Creator, The Originator and The Fashioner!

• Land animals

The butterfly passes through different stages of development. It receives a great command from the Allaah The Almighty, that it carries it out. It secretes sticky threads, spins them, and weaves them to produce a veil for the developing pupae inside a cocoon.

If an unthinking creature obeys the orders of Allaah the Almighty, then how can a woman who is favored with reason and logic disobey Allaah The Almighty?

Reptiles have scales; a hedgehog has sharp spines; a turtle carries a big, heavy shell on its back throughout its life. A turtle has the heaviest veil that bears witness to its patience. Which woman has the most precious Hijaab? A woman who spends a fortune on a showy, costly Hijaab which itself needs to be covered with another Hijaab in order to be Islamically acceptable; or the modest garb of a woman who desires the dress of Paradise?

Covers vary from one animal to another, and they may vary among the same species according to the needs of the animal.

Young birds are protected by the fragile shell of the egg that can easily break. So, women should not claim that Hijaab is merely a piece of cloth, for this piece of cloth is sufficient to protect you – Allaah willing. Eggs hatch, letting chicks come out with light fluffy hair which later develop into long feathers that protect the bird.

Humans are veiled:

Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses.} [Quran 39:6]

• The fetus in its mother’s womb

The fetus remains safe in its mother’s womb for nine months, and the womb is surrounded by membranes and layers. The three types of darkness are: darkness of the placenta, darkness of the womb’s wall, and darkness of the walls of the belly.

These membranes provide the fetus with comfort, security, food and oxygen.

• Veils in the man’s body

The diaphragm exists in the body and separates the heart and the lungs from the rest of the organs. It perfectly performs its function because it is thick, and neither light nor transparent.

On the contrary a woman’s Hijaab nowadays is light and revealing the details of the body. Not only is the woman’s Hijaab transparent, but it is also revealing – as if it were designed to allure, not to conceal – thus, belying its very purpose.

• The skeleton

It consists of a hard, protective skull where the brain is located. The brain is the man’s treasure, because it is the site of the mental faculties which distinguish him from animals, and it is located securely inside a bony container. A skillful doctor’s lancet cannot reach it except after sawing the skull. It is a mighty safe given to the rich and the poor, and is similar to an iron safe where precious jewels are kept. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {…And in yourselves. Then will you not see?} [Quran 51:21]

• The heart

The heart is like a gift wrapped in multiple layers. There are five soldiers guarding it: the pericardium, which is light; two soft lungs surrounding it; a breastbone securely containing them; muscles and tissues garmenting the breastbone; all of which is covered with protective skin. Likewise, the mercy, love and wisdom of our Lord encircles us, so He legislated Hijaab for us.

• The eye

The eye is the most valuable item man possesses. It is like a ball that fits in the eye sockets to protect it from injury. A woman, like the eye, puts on Hijaab to guard herself from being exploited as a sex object. People who misuse the faculties granted by Allaah The Almighty start with an unlawful look at a non-Mahram (marriageable) woman, followed by a smile, then a greeting, then a conversation, then a date, then a meeting, then impermissible exposure of adornments and free intermixing. The result usually is committing unlawful sex, diseases, shame, destruction, and finally torment in Hell. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them.} [Quran 24:30]

• The skin

The skin is a thick tissue which covers the body entirely and hides the bones, muscles, blood vessels, and so on. Let the woman imagine: If the skin had been transparent and showing what is under it, what would people have looked like? Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {We have certainly created man in the best of stature.} [Quran 95:4]

You sterilize the wounds on your skin in order to protect your body; however, Hijaab protects both your body and soul. How could you carelessly and indifferently discard it? With your Hijaab, you are a representative of Islam, a role model for others, and a guide for the whole world to the existence of a great religion.

With Hijaab, you are a protected jewel, and without it, you are like a sweet left uncovered for flies to land on. Are you a commodity for sale, or a corpse on which bacteria and worms gather? No. By Allaah, you are a well-protected pearl.

So, put on your Hijaab, because everything in the Universe is covered. Do not behave at odds with laws of the Universe, for deviation leads to The Fire.

  1. I have never thought about the hijab this way. It is incredible all the examples and beautiful descriptions you thought of. I love it! Thank you for sharing your writing.

I agree with you when you say “do not behave at odds with the Universe” this is why I find that I have never been able to find a religion to adhere to for myself. I was raised by parents who didn’t attend any church or mosque and left finding a relationship with God up to me. My spirituality has developed based on the principals of harmony, peace and Love and I believe that the Spirit of God connects us all. I have yet to find a doctrine or dogma that allows me to authentically worship and have commune with God, so I continue to learn about all religions and practice what feels right. I pray and I meditate and I try to do good deeds. I’m coming to believe that a relationship with God can be a very beautiful and natural thing when we do it authentically and in line with our true inner being.

Do you believe ALL women must wear hijab and that ALL people must be Muslim? I have Christian friends who think I’m going to burn in hell because I’m basically Pagan, do your beliefs condemn me, too? I don’t have any Muslim friends in my life right now that I can ask these questions to, so please reach out and connect with me. Help me understand Islam better. My hope is to live in accord with the diversity of the Universe. To live and let live seems also to be how God intended things to be.

    • Anyone who try to find God and try to be close to Him and look for guidance, surely finds a way to the truth. Thank You for reading and liking the post.
You are searching for truth so I would like to respond as a Muslim and as you said you don’t have Muslim friends, I’m here to answer your every question regarding Islam. I must first introduce Islam as a religion of peace, love, and harmony. But lets stop and let me tell you importance of following a religion. You believe in God and you believe that He created all the universe and everything in it. If you have any doubt in that then we can discuss that as well with logical and rational evidences. So He created everything. Now whenever something new is made only the manufacturer or inventor can tell how it works and what is its purpose. So my question to you is that what is your purpose because everything has some purpose. My blog has some purpose, your laptop has some purpose, and so on. What is human beings’ purpose on this planet? Many philosophers and thinkers provide many different answers to this question but no one is completely sure about any one single purpose. So here come the need for following religion because we know how we were created, and when we were created but we don’t know why we were created. We have to find this answer in religion sent by God. Its like a manual which we have to read and understand to know about ourselves and how we work. Our purpose define by the Devine revelation is to worship God alone. So how do we know which manual is truly from God because there are many religions? Simply by keeping few checks in mind. A Devine text will never have contradictions in it, A Devine text will always be true no matter what, a Devine text will always be unchanged.
There were many religions before Islam and Chrisitanity and Judaism but let me tell you that each and every religion was from God. Even Islam is from God and Christianity was from God and Judaism was from God. You’ll be surprised but its true. God sent Prophets and books to every nation starting from the first man Adam. The revelations were there to guide people of those times but God always told in those books about upcoming Prophet. So Adam knew that another Prophet will come. Noah (Prophet) knew that another prophet will come and many times there were two and even three prophets at the same time to the same nation. Moses (Prophet) knew that Jesus will come and Jesus knew that Mohammad will come. Moses got the old testament and jesus got the new Testament and Mohammad got the Quran. But the point is that whenever new book and new Prophet came then it was obligatory on people to follow the new one because their Devine books told them to do so. So people of Moses were bound to follow Jesus because they were told to do so by Moses and if they didn’t follow Jesus then they were astray and they were called non believers. Similarly people of Jesus were bound to follow Mohammad because Bible tells them to do so in these words: ““I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.” [Deuteronomy 18:18]” So basically God has only one religion which He sent on earth to Adam and different Prophets passed it on to final Prophet Mohammad in the form of Quran and this religion is called Islam now. The basic teaching of every Prophet was that there is ONLY ONE GOD and I am His Messenger. This was the brief introduction. Now you may be thinking that we can follow any religion because all of them are from God. But no, because as I told earlier that whenever new prophet came, people were instructed to follow the new one. And I quoted the verse from Bible which commands every Christian to believe in Mohammad too and follow Quran. But if they don’t follow then they are not following their own bible. On other hand Quran claims to be the last book and Mohammad is the last Prophet and there will never come a prophet after Mohammad. This Book, Quran, is the ultimate guidance from God to human being and it will be as it is till the last day. Quran which we read today is the same word to word, letter by letter which Mohammad gave to his people 1400 years back! And there is no contradiction in it and no one can copy the style of Quran. There are many proofs that Quran is from God and it’s a Devine revelation and not from a man. The proofs will be given to you if required.

You asked whether All women needs to wear hijab and all people must be Muslim? The answer is simple, if God created All of us then we all must follow God. I’m not saying follow Islam, even other religions condemn immorality and encourage their women to cover themselves up. Example is a nun working in a church. Even Jews are commanded to grow beard on their faces and Christians also and Muslims too. I’m calling you to the religion but its your responsibility to check every religion, judge it, and then choose which you think is the true religion because there can only be one true religion and not all. Study Christianity, Judaism and Islam because these are major religions. Read Devine books and I’m sure you’ll find your way towards the truth. In the meanwhile If you have any question about Islam, I’m here to help you. Please note: Never judge a religion by its followers just like you never judge a car by its driver! Religion is judged by its Devine book and its teachings and the way of its Prophet. May God Bless you.

Your last question about condemning. We have no right to condemn anyone. Our job is to tell the truth and that’s it. Its upto other person whether he/she accepts the truth or rejects it due to his/her ego. We love humanity and we want for others what we want for ourselves. Our Prophet told us that we can never be believers until we love for others what we love for ourselves.

Last thing, a sincere heart is always guided by God.

      • I genuinely appreciate this detailed response. I believe very strongly in the last thing you wrote, “a sincere heart is always guided by God.” What a beautiful thing to write!

The reason I searched for a blog like yours is because I feel like a bystander in what is happening in the “world” right now and I wanted to take an active role in understand what’s really going on. There are many people who believe they have all the answers and that they know what God wants and who are afraid of letting “others” take control. I do not want a world of violence or hate or fear mongering be the world I bring children into when I am blessed by being a mother. I want my children to be taught to love and respect each others’ differences because diversity is part of God’s plan. I believe this is true because of what my senses, my mind and my heart tells me. Even with all the diversity there is one thing that ties us all together and that is God. ❤

I hope you understand why I came here and I hope you recognize how much I appreciate your responses. I can see that you are a peaceful, thoughtful woman and I am glad that you exist. You are beautiful! 🙂

Blessings to you and your loved ones,

      • I appreciate your positive reply and I respect your search for truth. I’m happy that you are a bystander because its this quality which enables a person to think widely in all direction. If a person follows one ideology, he’ll have difficulty accepting the other one unless he comes out of the first one.
Our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) told us that this word and life is a test. He further told us that the one who believes in one God and believes that I am a Prophet of God then his all affairs are amazing because whenever something good happens, he thank God for it and God rewards him for thanking, and when something bad happens, he is patient because he knows that this life is a test, and due to this patience he is again rewarded by God.
Everything in this world is a test and this diversity of people, nations, ideology, cultures, religions, norms and practices are all part of this test. The one who follows God and His teachings and he follows the teachings of Prophet is the one who successfully passes the test. Our Prophet Mohammad (may my parents be sacrificed for him) told us that God doesn’t look at our dresses or our outward appearance, but he looks for our good deeds so a black man is never inferior to the white man nor a slave is inferior than his master nor a poor is inferior than rich.
And yes you are right that the focal point and the one who binds us together is God because He is the one who created everyone and divided us in different groups in different places. We must respect all.
The word ‘Islam’ comes from the root word ‘salama’ which means ‘peace’ and ‘Muslim’ is the one who accepts Islam which means he submitted. This submission is the ultimate one that is he brings God in his life for every matter. He do everything for what God commanded him to do and he do not do anything from which God asked him to stay away. He controls his desires and molds them to the obedience of God. Here we must understand that if one follows God in all the matters then there will be no injustice in the world because God is The Most Just and He loves justice. He created us and made the system so only He knows what is best for us as a nation. But ofcourse there are people who do not follow God, hence encourage injustice around the world. God asked Prophets to warn them about the consequences, and if they stopped then okay otherwise He will punish them in this world and in the next life too because of their injustices and disobedience. These are the people who are evil, who do not understand God’s power and spread evil, hatred, immorality and injustice in world.
The concept is simple, follow God and His Messenger and we’ll be successful otherwise we have no right for anything in this world or in hereafter.
The best thing you can do to yourself and your future children is that you read Words of God and know what does God wants from you as an individual and as a nation. You can start by reading Quran.

      • Out of everything you said this is the line that is most meaningful to me at this moment: “He controls his desires and molds them to the obedience of God.” As my connection to God grows stronger I feel as if I am discovering the depths of my being. God is the light that shines and brings into consciousness what was once unconscious or hidden in darkness. With the light of God I am learning to see parts of myself that I used to be unaware of. I see all of my desires, hopes and fears, my habits, my beliefs…all of the concepts that I used to believe make me who I am.
I am beginning to understand that my true Self is not those things. Those things are ephemeral. They do not last. My soul is all that really matters. I believe I am a being who experiences thoughts, feelings and desires, but those things do not define me. As I learn to embrace this concept I realize that the choice to do good or evil lies in my hands and that the knowledge of what is good and evil rests in Gods hands. I feel like my job is to know myself well enough to understand what is right and wrong for me. In other words, I must be able to determine what actions and thoughts bring me closer to God and what actions and thoughts separate me from God. If I consistently choose what brings me closer to God I don’t need to rely on outside sources. In some ways I feel like this is what the prophets/teachers/guides of many religions were saying. They said “i am a messenger of God I am one with the Spirit” and what they were really trying to teach us is that we are all capable of that communion with God. God is within all of us, thus to seek Him we must turn inward.
I would like to read the Quran because it is the one religious text that I haven’t really studied personally. I am sure that I will find wisdom and I will find things that bring me closer to God. I am open to everything. All is created by God thus we can learn about Him through any source. I never want to close my heart or mind to a possibility that may bring me closer to God.

I humbly appreciate your willingness to have the discussion with me. I feel moved and excited by your openness and I love the way you so eloquently describe your faith. It means so much for me have an opportunity to talk to someone with such a different background. I feel I am learning so much from you!

Have a beautiful and blessed day. ❤ Kay

  2. 🙂 Not woman Kaycers, you were given the reply by a male, and owner of this blog. 🙂 Brother Abu Yusaf.
I just published the article here on his blog.
Keep smiling Kaycers. May God bless you 🙂

      • Peace Be Upon You Kaycers 🙂
You said you would like to read Quran. Here you can read http://quran.com/ selecting whatever chapter you would like to read from the main page.
If you don’t understand anything you can ask your questions here and brother abu yusaf will reply.
You can change the translation language from left tab. And you can also listen to the Quran recitation from the button on top left. (amazinggg it is)

        Keep smiling:
        Your sister 🙂

      • Well sister everything is there , and we are told already about what is right and what is wrong, what we need to do is to read and act, but read what??? Read what the word of God is. All books and each book is not a word of God, so before making our way towards divine revelations , we need to check with a touch stone its reliability., to know that which one is really in its actual condition,. And i have told you earlier that a divine revelation never has contradictions in it, and it stays word by word the same even after thousands years, (Quran is the only only divine book that comes true on these two condition, you can search yourself too).
In a way it is right that to find God we have to look inside , but we also need to read divine text, and we have to ponder in the universe and the amazing system running around us.

There is a verse of Quran which says :
” We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?” 41:53

Sister you are always welcome to ask your questions here whenever you want.
Its a pleasure to help you in your sacred search.
